Position Overview

Provides client oversight and instruction in adult basic education and independent living skills for BAC clients. Position relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Executes established course objectives and teaches basic education and independent living skills; maintains safety of clients at all times
  • Conducts behavioral intervention with clients to ensure safety and physical/emotional well-being; communicates any issues with appropriate parties in a timely manner
  • Researches for and prepares lesson plans and supplemental paperwork
  • Develops, monitors and maintains documentation on individual client objectives and progress toward goals; submits documentation to program supervisors
  • Completes all reports in an accurate and timely manner; submits plans and reports to program management and other authorized recipients as scheduled
  • Researches, plans, coordinates and assists in executing various community outings; assists with special speakers and events as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by two or more years’ experience in education and/or working with individuals with disabilities (IWD); or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Associates degree preferred
  • Experience: Two years of related experience

 Core Skills & Capabilities

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques and professional standards in the field of habilitation services for individuals with disabilities (IWD)
  • Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and applicable department/organization specific software
  • Ability to organize work for timely completion
  • Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing


Shift: On Demand typically 8:30am – 3:00pm

Pay rate: Negotiable depending on education and experience
