Kelly is Empowered to Reach Her Dreams!
Kelly is 13 years old and currently in 7th grade. Along with her core classes, Kelly participates in her Vocal Ensemble and School Theater Program and is part of the BAC Arts Program.
As an individual with Autism and significant visual impairments, Kelly has overcome many challenges on her journey to excel within the arts. When she was younger, she could not even attend, let alone perform, in a live concert or artist showcase die to the loud noises and crowds.
Kelly loves art in many forms, and loves to create it! When she was in 5th grade her artwork was chosen to be on display at the Melbourne Square Mall and she won the “Art Student of the Month” award from the state-wide Arts 4 All program!
Most recently Kelly provided solo vocal performances at BAC’s Performing Arts Showcase, a private concert for participants in our Adult Day Training program, and she performed “Never Enough” from “The Greatest Showman” at BAC’s Employ Empower Achieve (E2A) Community Awards in front of a crowd of 175+ people!
It is Kelly’s dream to one day be employed by Disney and perform daily at the parks.
The BAC Arts program offers an inclusive arts programs to the community for ages six and above. Dance, music, painting, sculpting and acting are a few of the mediums taught by visiting artists provided by the BAC Arts Program to Brevard Public Schools Exceptional Student Education students in elementary through high school, as well as adults in BAC’s ADT program. This arts education is then brought to life at annual events such as the Performing Arts Showcase, BAC’s Arts Festival at Brevard Zoo and Holiday Card Contest. Individual donations and grants fund this inclusive and interactive arts program.
