On Friday, March 15 in the Eau Gallie Arts District (EGAD) of Melbourne, the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery premiered their exclusive art show, “What A Difference A Day Makes:  24 Hour Art Challenge.”  Proceeds from the event were given to Very Special Arts-Brevard (VSA-Brevard), a program of Brevard Achievement Center (BAC) that provides enrichment through the arts for both children and adults with disabilities.  Cogswell Street Studio is a part of this program.

The “What A Difference A Day Makes:  24 Hour Art Challenge” featured 24 local artists who had 24 hours to create 24 pieces of art based on a series of prompts given to them by Art Challenge leaders.  Artists also were filmed during their 24-hour creative period and footage was turned into a documentary that premiered during Friday night’s festivities.  In addition, those who purchased a “Big Ticket” during the Friday night event, as well as one lucky raffle winner, got to take home a piece of art from the Art Challenge collection.

“Thank you to Renee’ Decator of the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery for organizing this fun, collaborative art event,” said Lori Emly, Executive Director VSA-Brevard.  “Our clients appreciate the outpouring of support from everyone who participated in the Art Challenge and attended the event.  We’re very grateful for the over $4,000 raised from this exciting arts experience.”
