Many of you have probably heard of the hit movie “The Peanut Butter Falcon” starring Shia LeBeouf, Dakota Johnson, and Zack Gottsagen.

What you probably didn’t know is that Zack has been a participant in BAC’s WIPA Program since 2018!

He is a huge movie fan, and was working in a Movie Theater before his climb to fame! Zack was referred to BAC to determine how working would affect his disability benefits. He has been acting locally in south Florida since he was three years old. Zacks’s parents were strong advocates and fought to have him be the first child with Down Syndrome to be fully integrated into the Palm Beach County school district. He graduated from the Dreyfoos School of the Arts.

The Peanut Butter Falcon premiered at South by Southwest last March, and the rest is history! Zack even won the “Rising Star” award at the Palm Springs Film Festival and is anticipated to receive a 2020 Oscar Nomination!

Congratulations Zack! Team BAC is so proud of your achievements!

The Peanut Butter Falcon is an adventure story set in the world of a modern Mark Twain that begins when Zak (22), a young man with Down syndrome, runs away from the nursing home where he lives to chase his dream of becoming a professional wrestler by attending the wrestling school The Salt Water Redneck.
