CookingEventOn Saturday, March 1 at 7pm, those at the Space Coast Convention Center in Cocoa will get to watch the food fly as BAC presents a fast-paced, creative cooking competition spotlighting some of Brevard’s best Junior Chefs.  Competing for the golden fork (or spoon or knife) will be Rachel Anne M., Zachary D. and Brady W., students at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Rockledge; and, Samantha S. of Quest Elementary.  Sprinkling some flavor into the mix will be seasoned professionals Amanda and Dave of Palm Tree on Grove in Merritt Island (Amanda was a contestant on Hell’s Kitchen Season Six!); Kathy of Café Unique in Cocoa Village; Emma and James of Ossorio’s, also in Cocoa Village; as well as Dennis and Cara of D.I.G. Bistro in Suntree.  Each Master Chef will be paired with one of our young competitors to add a little spice to the competition.   Our “cheftacular” evening is presented by Southern Janitor and Viera High School Student Government.

Of course you can’t have a competition without judges which is why BAC is pleased to announce that local celebrities Carol Craig, Chief Executive Officer of Craig Technologies; Robin Fisher, District 1 County Commissioner; Dr. Stephanie Haridopolos, Family Practitioner; Dr. James Ronaldson, President of Health First Physicians Group; Steve Ryland, Owner of Beachside Physical Therapy and The Health Studio; and, Kyle Smith, General Manager of the Brevard County Manatees will be on hand to lend their culinary knowledge and discriminating taste buds to crown our winning team.  Plus, to make sure everyone catches the action, Central Florida On Demand’s Entertainment Specialist, Allison Walker will serve as official emcee and roving reporter during the event.  But, that’s not all!

Participate in our event raffle and you could be our first guest judge.  Give your taste buds some love with food samples from local and nationally recognized food vendors.  Buy friends and family a few unique gifts created by our artists with disabilities from Cogswell Street Studio, the art program of BAC.  Or, give yourself a treat by being the winning bidder in our large silent auction.  As you can see, this is absolutely going to be One Sweet Night!

Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the door and can be purchased at bacbrevard.com or by calling (321) 632-8610.  For more information, contact Marketing and Development Administrator, Rosalind (Roz) Weiss at rweiss@bacbrevard.com or ext. 203.
