Brevard Achievement Center (BAC) is proud to announce that President and CEO, Amar Patel has been named a 2015 “4 Under 40” winner.  Patel received this honor on Friday, February 27 at LEAD Brevard’s annual ceremony held at Florida Institute of Technology’s Gleason Center.

The “4 Under 40” recognition honors community-minded professionals under the age of 40 who demonstrate professional excellence, perform valuable public service and provide impactful mentorship.  The four finalists were chosen from a group of 12 nominees, all of whom are accomplished community leaders.  This is Patel’s first time winning the award; he has been a past Top 12 nominee three times.

“As a young leader, I know firsthand the difference we can all make if we simply follow our passion and help our community,” Patel said.  “Receiving this award honors what I hope will be my legacy of inspiring others to get involved and make things happen.”

Patel has been BAC’s President and CEO since 2012.  Prior to joining the nonprofit, he was a Project Manager at Harris Corporation where he worked for eight years upon graduation from the University of Florida (UF).  At UF, Patel earned his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, an M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering and an M.B.A.  He currently is active on the boards of CareerSource Brevard and the Florida Tech Women’s Business Center. Patel also is a past director of RockOn, a local nonprofit whose mission is to foster independence and growth for kids with disabilities through rock climbing.
